Operating Procedures
Pre-deployment Checks
1. Inspect all watertight connectors on the ROV unit to ensure they are fully tightened; clear the thruster propellers of any entangled weeds or ropes.
2. Inspect the entire transmission cable for damage, such as abrasions, cracks, or sharp kinks; rotate the cable reel to ensure smooth winding and unwinding without jamming.
3. Connect the cable, ground battery, remote controller, and video receiver module in the correct order, then power on the entire system.
4. Perform a ground-based, no-load system test: operate the remote controller to verify normal thruster function, proper video feed output, correct operation of underwater lights, and smooth camera tilt adjustment.
Underwater Operations
1. Gently place the ROV into the water and slowly pay out the cable, maintaining some slack; do not jerk or pull the cable taut, as this could damage internal signal lines.
2. Navigate the ROV underwater using the remote controller while monitoring the real-time video feed to conduct exploration and inspection tasks.
3. Monitor the remaining cable length throughout the operation; strictly avoid pulling the cable completely taut, as current drag could cause a loss of control.
Post-operation Retrieval
1. Navigate the ROV back to the surface near the retrieval point and slowly wind the cable reel to retract the entire cable.
2. Retrieve the ROV unit from the water; turn off the main power supply first, then disconnect all connectors in the proper order.
