APISQUEEN ESC Explanation: Differences between ESCs with and without BEC for underwater thrusters

Posted by Fengyukun on

In this article, APISQUEEN will analyze the core differences of ESCs for you, help you choose 30A or 45A ESCs according to your needs, and optimize the power supply scheme of your equipment.

What is BEC? Why does it affect the choice of ESCs?

BEC (Battery Elimination Circuit) is a micro power module integrated in the ESC, which can directly draw power from the battery and power low-voltage devices such as receivers and servos. APISQUEEN ESCs provide two solutions:

Models with BEC (such as 30A ESCs): output 5V/1A stable voltage, simplify wiring, and are suitable for light underwater equipment.

Models without BEC (such as 45A ESCs): support external high-power BEC modules to meet the customization needs of professional-level underwater thrusters.

APISQUEEN ESC comparison: 30A & 45A

APISQUEEN 45A ESC (without BEC)

Dual signal line design (no intermediate power line)

Requires external BEC module through adapter cable

Recommended scenarios: high-power underwater propulsion system, customized power supply solution required

APISQUEEN 30A ESC (integrated 5V/1A BEC)

Three-wire design (including red 5V positive output line)

Plug and play, no additional power module required

Recommended scenarios: small and medium-sized underwater robots, rapid deployment projects

Purchase suggestions:

Beginner/lightweight application: Choose APISQUEEN 30A ESC, built-in BEC reduces installation complexity

Professional/high power requirements: APISQUEEN 45A ESC + external BEC provides higher power supply freedom
